Visit the Nelson Mandela Gateway and Robben Island to learn more about the apartheid era. Visit the site where Mandela and other activists and politicians were incarcerated. After lunch, we will visit Table Mountain, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. This iconic landmark is a symbol for millions of travellers: welcoming them to Cape Town, welcoming them home. Once back “on the ground” we will enjoy free time in Bo-Kaap, a neighbourhood known for its colourful houses and Cape Malay culture.

Itinerary

Stop At Table Mountain lower Cable Car station. The guide will escort you for the maximum experience.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Robben Island Museum
Afterwards, you will visit the Nelson Mandela Gateway to take a ferry to Robben Island. This is a 4-hour trip to see where Nelson Mandela and so many others were incarcerated during the Apartheid regime.
Your guide will not escort you to the Island as the island has its own guides. You will be on the boat with other people. You will be given a full tour by an ex-prisoner.
Duration: 4 hours

We will grab light lunch at a nearby restaurant. Afterwards, we will take to a small city tour where the guide will point out the historical buildings and monuments. Our final stop in our exciting journey, and a great photo opportunity, is Bo-Kaap.  We will spend some time here before the tour concludes.
