Here there is an optional ferry to the seal island colony at Duiker Island. You are able to see thousands of Cape fur seals in their natural habitat. The boat trip is a 45-minute return trip and the skipper will circle around the Island allowing you to see the seals parading and swimming. We do not recommend this activity when it is windy or rainy as the oceans tend to be rough.

Stop 9 At Bo-Kaap, Cape Town Central South Africa
From there we will stop in the Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay Quarter). The colourful houses carry great historical significance. Situated at the foot of Signal Hill, on the fringe of the city centre, the Bo-Kaap’s origins date back to the 1760s. The houses were built and leased to slaves. These people were brought from Malaysia, Indonesia and the rest of Africa to work in the Cape. They later became known as Cape Malays. When the houses were leased to the slaves, they had to be white. When slavery was abolished and the occupants were allowed to buy the properties, all the houses were painted bright colours as an expression of their freedom.
